After launching her professional career as an actress Mena Alexandra Svari was a regular as a guest on 1990s television shows Boy Meets World and High Incident. Her first film role in the 1997 drama Nowhere. Her performances in American Beauty - for which the actress was nominated to get the BAFTA Award - and American Pie, which garnered her greater attention and recognition, she was able to move into larger roles. The year 2000 saw her starred in American Pie alongside American Pie co star Jason Biggs. Then, she played the lead part on the film Sugar & Spice (2000). Spun is an independent film from 2002 and the thriller film Trauma (2004) are the two films she has made her most recent appearances. In addition, she was a part of HBO's drama series Six Feet Under in 2004 she received a nomination as an Outstanding Cast at the 2005 Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008, Suvari appeared in a variety of films, like Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and also as the film adaption to The Garden of Eden. Suvari has been a model for Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she has also appeared on several blogs and fashion magazines such as Vogue. Suvari has been a loyal campaigner for and a supporter of the renowned African relief organization known as the African Medical and Research Foundation.
